I’m Johanna Zollmann and I recently joined Combined Arms as the Social Services Manager. My role is to ensure that our clients are connected to quality community resources through use of our member organizations. I represent the client stakeholder within Combined Arms: advocating to ensure clients are able to access the resources they need, ensuring policies, procedures, and processes are efficient and effective as possible for our clients, and always seeking ways to ensure our veteran community is thriving in the Houston area.

Pacifica Sauer left high school at the age 17 to join the U.S. Navy. "Life was new and exciting, and I couldn't wait to be in it," she said. In February of 1996, Sauer left home for boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois, ready for a big adventure. "It was challenging in the ways I expected it to be, and shocking in others. Service in the military is a proud family tradition. It was something I found worth doing."
At New Politics Leadership Academy, we know that politics is service and it’s central to how we solve the big challenges faced by our country. We also know that people who have served the country are our nation’s best change makers, and we need them in politics. That’s why we lower the barrier of entry for veterans and national service alumni interested in politics through training and network-building.
